A day at the beach

Today was a wonderful afternoon at the beach. My husband's company hosted a beach party and barbeque. It was Mr. Pickles goal to eat as many snow cones as he could; he managed to consume 3 total and was he a happy camper! Cotton candy, churro's and monster energy drinks - what more could a 13 year old ask for?

We made a trip to Laguna Beach after the party for a quick stop at the consignment store and picked up a few little treasures and then on for an Italian dinner at Jack's. I managed to make a mess of myself. I already had dots of blue cotton candy on my white shirt and then added to it with a little bolognese sauce...oh well what are you going to do?

It's cooled off this evening and the windows are open and the a/c is off. Time to kick off the flip flops and call it a day.

Refining the Blog

Ok, so I'm new at this and will experiment as I go along! TGIF! Doing a little cleaning so that I can enjoy the weekend. I may get to a flea market this weekend - not sure yet. I'll be listing some things on ebay and craigs list and getting organized as always.

Jake had a bath today and smells yummy - like lavender!

We're getting ready to take a trip to Minnesota to visit Aunt Meghan, Uncle Brent, Tristan and Baby! We're so excited.

Send in the Clowns!

Good morning! It's been a great weekend. Our friends Dennis, Leanne and Connor spent Friday night with us before heading on to Texas where they are relocating. We will miss them but know that our friendship will continue with visits. Leanne has been a great friend and introduced me to flea markets many years ago - it's all her fault. So, in honor of her I went to one yesterday; Piecemakers Peddlers Market in Costa Mesa and I hit the mother load! Linda and I headed up in the morning and a few hours later we loaded our last batch and had a bite to eat! They had the best chicken salad sandwiches and apple pie - we were in heaven. We met so many nice people and found some really great treasures - so glad there was an atm on site :).

We ended the day with a concert at the Lake featuring Kenny Rankin and Judy Collins. They were great and the atmosphere of sitting at the lake sipping on a glass of wine listinening to these talented artists was very peaceful. Judy ended her show with her rendition of Amazing Grace but not before singing her very popular song "Send in the Clowns".

I'm off to Joann's later today to drop of my treasues and then to do a bit of laundry and grocery shopping.
